Gale Longo was born in Bangor, Maine and has lived here all her life, except for seven years that her husband Michael and she lived in southern Florida. Gale was educated in the Bangor school system and went to the University of Maine, graduating in 1975. She has, for the bulk of her working career, been involved with fashion, both in retail operations and with her own designer line offered privately.
Michael and Gale have two grown sons and one grandson. The family lives in the immediate area and they very much enjoy their time together.
Gale has been involved with many groups and served on numerous boards and committees in the Bangor area. Most recently, she has been very active with Husson University, both in philanthropic support of scholarships and serving on the Women’s Philanthropy Council as a founding member. Additionally, Husson University is located on what used to be the Hillman Dairy Farm, which belonged to Gale's family.
